It's hard to believe that it is Term 4 already. The holidays were very busy for some of our class. Drew, Liam and Millar were at a football tournament in Rolleston. On Wednesday a group of boys performed for the whole school.Their songs and haka from their homeland Tonga really impressed us. Taniela, Habana and Feleti from Room 1 were part of the group.

We didn't know what we were colouring in so it was a big surprise when we put all the pages together and saw what we had made!
Exciting times at Allenton School with the first meeting of the Chess Club. Lots of Room 1 children went and they had a ball.

There has been a new teacher in Room 1 for the past 2 days. Mr Miles the monkey has been in charge. He is very strict and is threatening to put us in the sin bin for a week. Oh no!!
For the last 5 weeks we have been doing netball skills with Brooke. We've learnt a lot and had fun even thought it's been quite chilly some days. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OEO9_05Alw4
Watch us playing on Youtube. At the end of last term Mrs Moore was given some quince which is a yellow fruit a bit like a pear. In the holidays she made some quince jelly and it turns out to be a beautiful rose gold pink colour. She brought some to school for us to taste, it was very delicious. We were surprised how nice it was. On Tuesday Liam, Adam, Adien, Millar, Lucy and Moana represented Allenton at the County Cross Country. It was held at the racecourse and luckily the sun came out at just the right time. Here are photos showing Liam who got 7th, Adam and Millar running. Well done everyone, I hear you represented Allenton with pride. Last week the Senior Area visited Ferrymead Historic Village to find out about life at home 100years ago during World War 1. We dressed up in clothes that were similar to what people wore back then.
